Adrian is recovering

Romanian star Adrian Mutu is recovering from a left knee problem and he could be back in the line-up in mid May, according to Europsort.

The Romanian has not featured for his side since scoring the winner in the 1-0 victory over Tuscan rivals Siena on March 22. The player had to undergo surgery to his meniscus approximately three weeks ago in Rome.

Doctor Pierpaolo Mariani, who specializes in knee and sports injuries, visited the striker this afternoon to determine his progress. His current course of rehabilitation is to regain muscle strength, before rejoining his team-mates in training.

His projected return is against Sampdoria on May 17, but he will be re-evaluated by Mariani in 15 days to confirm that as a possible date to insert him back into the starting XI.

Despite his absence, Fiorentina have managed to climb the table into fourth place. Nonetheless, they will be pleased when the former Verona man returns, as he has found the back of the net 13 times in Serie A this season.
