Fiorentina are in the midst of a fairly inconsistent spell, having managed to record just one victory in their past five matches in all competitions, with that coming against a struggling Chievo side a couple of weeks ago.

On that day, the Viola emerged triumphant thanks to a last-gasp goal by Adrian Mutu, which was enough to separate the two sides.

As a result of their poor form of late, the club have decided to turn their attentions to the transfer market, where they are reportedly closing in on Udinese’s star defender Cristian Zapata.
