Mutu assists, Gilardino score
A late, late goal by Alberto Gilardino allowed Fiorentina to beat ten man Lazio 1-0 at the Artemio Franchi stadium and get back into fourth place.
Fiorentina welcomed a troubled Lazio side, who were coming off three big defeats to Cagliari, Sampdoria, and Milan, looking for revenge following their 3-0 defeat to the Biancocelesti earlier this season.
The Viola played with their usual attacking couple of Adrian Mutu and Alberto Gilardino in attack, with Riccardo Montolivo in support, while Lazio played in a 4-3-3 formation with Pasquale Foggia, Mauro Zarate, and Goran Pandev in attack.
In the last minute of regulation time, Gilardino found a surprising winner for the Viola. Mutu fired a shot from the edge of the area that Muslera failed to keep a hold of, and the Italian striker was on hand to tap in the ball to make it 1-0 at the death.
