Chelsea being usurped in their pursuit of Robinho by the noveau riche at Eastlands was the nail in the Blues’ sugar-daddy coffin.
The Russian wants to break even and fast on his Chelsea project, and the days of spending over £50 million on Juan Sebastian Veron, Adrian Mutu and Shevchenko are well and truly over.
