Roma want to beat Mutu

Roma sporting director Daniele Prade has shown Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu the sword on the end of his tongue, hitting out at the Fiorentina man.

The Romanian international travels to the Stadio Olimpico this week with his side as they lock horns with the Giallorossi.

Things could have turned out so differently during the summer when Mutu had a verbal agreement with Roma to join them.

However, the Viola’s owners stepped in to ruin the plans.

Prade, then, is still bitter five months on.

“We are not interested in Mutu at all,” Prade told Il Corriere Dello Sport.

“We don’t want him any more. He is an opponent now and we just want to beat him.”

Roma head into the clash in good form following three wins on the bounce.

Fiorentina, on the other hand, will still feel the pain of having been dumped out of the Champions League this season and they will be looking to ease the frustration.
